Before we go any further, this post is about moisturizer. And that would be body moisturizer, nothing risqué or kinky, got it?! Moisturizer is an essential part of my beauty routine. I put it on morning and night, and at all times of the day.
I have tried many, but only a few have made a repeat performance. I’m really picky and want a good quality moisturizer that doesn’t cost a fortune or I won’t want to use it and keep using it repeatedly. There are some skincare items worth splurging on, but luckily a great body moisturizer can be found for $20 or less. After much trial and error, here are the lucky few…
- Trader Joe’s Coconut Body Butter ($4.99) – I love, love, love this stuff! I buy at least 2 at a time so I always have one on-hand. It is loaded with skin loving ingredients like coconut oil, shea butter, aloe vera, and Vitamin E, with a whipped creamy consistency. The smell is hard to describe – coconut, but not overpowering. After a sniff test with hubby we decided if a coconut and Marshmallow Fluff had a baby, this would be it. And the packaging is quite nice too, with a flip-top lid which allows me to get every last dollop!
- Ocean Potion Moisturizing Aloe Lotion ($5) – Definitely one of my holy grail products; I’ve bee
n using this lotion for over 10 years. Occasionally I’ll stray and try other things, but I normally always have this available when I need some extra TLC. Made with pure aloe vera gel, Vitamins A, C, and E, tea tree oil, herbal extracts, seaweed extract and other natural skin emollients and conditioners, this moisturizer really packs a wallop. The consistenc
y is what makes it unique – a gel/cream hybrid that has a nice hydrating, slightly cooling feel on the skin. It also has a wonderful scent reminiscent of orange dreamsicles and a huge 20.5 fl oz. pump bottle is only around $5 … what’s not to love?!
- Bath and Body Works True Blue Spa – Look Ma, New Hands Paraffin Super Softening Hand Lotion ($18.50): I have been using this one for years as my go-to night-time hand cream. The paraffin gives it an interesting consistency that just feels amazing and does a super job at keeping my hands soft. And I always get the Spa Size!
- Bath and Body Works True Blue Spa – Heel of Approval Cracked Heel Treatment ($15): When it comes to smooth feet exfoliation is key. This cream incorporates glycollic acid to exfoliate and shea butter for great hydration.
I’m sure there will be additions to the list in the future as I am always trying new moisturizers, but few are good enough to make the cut.
Until next time!
